Intralesional corticosteroid injections as first option for management of giant cell lesion of the lower jaw in a 56-year-old patient: A case report and brief literature review

Giant cell lesions of the maxillofacial region constitute a diverse group lesions, which frequently affect lower jaw, and are commonly detected at younger ages, in second third decades life. They can be categorized as aggressive or non-aggressive mainly based on clinical behavior. Management is most through surgical intervention. However, many patients consider surgery to unfavorable due sacrifice surrounding anatomic structures, potentially necessitating reconstruction procedures. Therefore, alternative modalities conservative therapy have emerged. One method management intralesional corticosteroid injections, been described with promising results. Here we report our experience treatment 56-year-old female patient, whom giant lesion was managed using steroid injections. This resulted total regression according radiographic examinations.
